Tension Surrounds Eviction in Howrah Following Court Order, Clashes Between Landowners and Residents

**Howrah:** Tension erupted in the East Khapara area of South Sankrail, Howrah, surrounding the eviction of land based on a court order. A dispute that has lasted for 16 years led to a clash between the two parties on Thursday morning, resulting in physical altercations and brick-throwing. Police arrived at the scene to control the situation.

It is reported that landowner Sajol Mandal claims that his legally purchased land has been forcibly occupied for a long time. He alleges that houses have been built on the land and rented out. He approached the court regarding this matter.

Sajol Mandal claims that the court ordered his eviction in the case. Based on that order, he went to the area on Thursday to evict the house with police protection. He also showed the court's judgment and decree documents to the journalists.

However, the evicted residents countered that they were attacked after the police left the site. They claim that they were physically assaulted and that women were also mistreated.

Amidst these allegations and counter-allegations, tensions between the two parties escalated. Physical fights began, and bricks were thrown at each other. The incident caused widespread panic in the area.

On the other hand, the landowner alleged that despite the court order and police protection, he did not receive the necessary assistance from the police.

Due to the ongoing tension in the area after the incident, police are keeping a watch on the situation. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the conflict and whether anyone was injured in the incident. Police sources have stated that further action will be taken based on the allegations from both parties.
