Humayun Kabir Appears at Baharampur Police Station in Babri Mosque Audio Controversy, Interrogated Over Viral Conversation

**Baharampur:** Humayun Kabir, the chairman of the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) and MLA from Naoda, appeared at the Baharampur police station in connection with the viral audio controversy. He arrived at the station before the scheduled time on Monday in response to a notice sent by the police. It is reported that he has been called for questioning as part of the investigation surrounding the audio clip.

Recently, an audio clip went viral on social media. Allegations have been made that the conversation discussed plans to hoist the BJP party flag at the under-construction Babri Mosque site in Murshidabad during the night and to create unrest around it. It has been alleged that a part of the conversation contains the voice of Humayun Kabir. However, the authenticity of the viral audio has not been independently verified.

In the course of the investigation, the police have reportedly arrested one person. Following this, a notice was issued to Humayun Kabir to appear at the police station for questioning. Last Saturday, the Baharampur police visited his home to deliver the notice. The notice instructed him to appear at the Baharampur police station by 11 AM on September 21.

In accordance with that directive, the AJUP chairman appeared at the police station on that day. Before going to the station, Humayun Kabir claimed that there was an attempt to harass him. He also stated that he would cooperate with the police in the investigation. Regarding the viral audio, he asserted that he is not involved in any plans for unrest and claimed that there is a conspiracy behind the matter.

The audio controversy has already sparked discussions in the political circles of Murshidabad. Especially before the upcoming by-election for the Rejinagar assembly, this incident has created new political tension. The by-election in Rejinagar is scheduled for October 6, where Humayun Kabir's son, Golam Nabi Azad, is the candidate for AJUP.
