Debate Arises as Road Work Begins, BJP Halts Work: Heated Argument in Gayeshpur

**Nadia, Kalyani:** A debate has arisen as road work begins. The BJP leadership halted the construction work, raising allegations that the work is not being done according to the rules. Tension erupted in Ward 14 of Gayeshpur Municipality in Nadia.

According to local sources, road work began in the area early in the morning. Although the work of the government project was supposed to follow specific rules and approvals, it was alleged that work was started in violation of those rules.

Upon receiving the news, BJP Mandal President Bishwajit Pal and other party leaders and workers arrived at the scene. Following this, the road work was halted. A heated argument ensued between the BJP leadership and the contract workers regarding the work stoppage. Ultimately, the concerned contract workers stopped the work.

BJP Mandal President Bishwajit Pal alleged, **corruption has occurred in various government works during the Trinamool's tenure, and multiple projects, including roads, have been carried out in violation of the rules.** However, he claimed that they will not tolerate any illegal or rule-violating work at present.

The BJP Mandal President also expressed anger over a roller used in the road work. He claimed that all processes should be completed according to the prescribed rules for government project work.

Police from the Gayeshpur outpost arrived at the scene after receiving news of the incident. They took measures to control the situation and examined the entire matter.

On the other hand, the Executive Officer of Gayeshpur Municipality stated regarding the matter that the inauguration of the road is scheduled for next Friday. He mentioned that he is unaware of how the road work started before that. He assured that the matter would be investigated.

Questions are now being raised regarding the approval of the road work, the commencement of construction before the inauguration, and whether the work has been done according to government rules. However, the actual situation will become clear only after investigating the entire matter.

Meanwhile, political tensions surrounding the road work have created a stir in the area.
