Stormy Sea in Puri Due to Low Pressure, Administration on Alert

**Puri:** The coast of Odisha has become turbulent due to the deep low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal. On Wednesday, the sea at Puri beach is also witnessing rough waves. The administration is on alert considering the situation. Tourists and locals are being warned against going near the sea.

The Indian Meteorological Department has reported that the deep low pressure over the west-central and adjoining northwestern Bay of Bengal has moved further west on Wednesday. It is likely to cross the north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coast between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur on the night of September 23.

Due to this weather system, heavy rain and gusty winds are forecasted in the coastal areas of Odisha, including Puri. The weather department has issued a warning for heavy rain along with gusty winds of about 40 to 50 kilometers per hour for Puri on Wednesday.

The sea conditions are also not normal. The coastal bulletin from the weather department indicates that the sea off the Odisha coast is rough to very rough. At the same time, local warning signals have been issued at all ports in Odisha.

Fishermen have been advised not to go to sea. The administration is also warning tourists against entering the sea and going to dangerous areas.

Due to the deep low pressure, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in various districts of Odisha in the coming days. Therefore, the administration is keeping an eye on the situation.
