Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Portrait Unveiled on His Birthday in Fulia's Loom

**Nadia:** On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, a unique tribute was seen in Fulia, Shantipur, Nadia. A portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been woven on a silk Jamdani loom. This special artwork has been created entirely by hand, without any form of painting.

The special line art portrait has been made under the supervision of Padma Shri awardee weaver Biren Kumar Basak. It took nearly 10 days for his talented weaver team, led by Bibek Biswas, to create this unique artwork.

Weaver Biren Kumar Basak stated that this artwork was not created for sale. It has been made to showcase the skills, creativity, and diversity of Bengal's weavers on the occasion of the Prime Minister's birthday.

It is known that the idea for this artwork originated from Biren Kumar Basak's son, Abhinav Basak, who started the work of fine art and line art in Jamdani. In 2016, the first portrait of Rabindranath Tagore was created through Jamdani. Since then, weavers have gradually showcased the portraits of several prominent personalities in Jamdani.

Continuing this tradition, a line art portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now been created in Jamdani weaving. This special Jamdani wall art, suitable for wall decoration, combines modern artistic thought with the exquisite craftsmanship of Bengal's traditional weaving.

This initiative to depict the Prime Minister's portrait in Fulia's loom once again highlights the unique skills and creativity of Bengal's weavers.
