Humayun Kabir Released from Baharampur Police Station After Four and a Half Hours of Interrogation, Police Targets BJP

**Baharampur:** In a controversial viral audio incident, Humayun Kabir, the MLA from Naoda and chairman of the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP), was released by the Baharampur police after nearly four and a half hours of interrogation. He was summoned to the police station on September 21. According to police sources, he was asked multiple questions regarding the audio incident and his statements were recorded.

After leaving the police station, Humayun Kabir spoke to the media about the police interrogation. He claimed that he was being unnecessarily harassed. He also commented that the police should be dedicated to serving the general public.

Attacking the police's role, Humayun stated that according to his allegations, the police acted as 'party slaves' during Mamata Banerjee's tenure. He claimed that currently, under the leadership of Suvendu Adhikari, the BJP is also experiencing the same treatment from the police. He alleged that his party leaders and workers are being arrested in various places.

Humayun also clarified his position regarding the viral audio. He claimed that he does not know well the person who called him. He questioned the allegations against him regarding the conversation in the audio.

It is noteworthy that media reports have mentioned that multiple cases have been filed against Humayun Kabir under various sections of the Indian Penal Code concerning the viral audio. The police are investigating allegations of conspiracy to incite communal tension in the audio.

Meanwhile, after the interrogation on September 21, he was asked to appear again at the Baharampur police station on **September 23 at 11 AM**.
