**Murshidabad:** Police attacked while raiding a gambling den. Allegations have been made against miscreants for throwing bombs at the police in Kharera village of Salar police station in Murshidabad. Several police officers, including ASI Sadek Ali of Salar police station, have been seriously injured in the incident. The incident has caused widespread tension in the area.


According to police sources, the Salar police had received information about regular gambling activities in Kharera village. Based on that secret information, a police team conducted a raid in the area late Sunday night. ASI Sadek Ali led the operation.


It is alleged that as soon as the police force reached near the gambling den, they started throwing bombs at them. Several bombs were reportedly thrown in succession. The sound of the explosions spread panic throughout the village. ASI Sadek Ali and several other police officers were injured due to the bomb blasts. Following this, it is alleged that the accused fled the scene taking advantage of the situation.


Upon receiving news of the incident, additional police forces from Salar police station arrived at the scene. The injured police officers were first taken to Salar rural hospital. However, since ASI Sadek Ali's injuries were serious, he was transferred to Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital when his condition deteriorated. He is currently receiving treatment there.


Since the incident, a tense situation has developed in Kharera village. Even on Monday morning, the situation in the area was tense. To prevent any unpleasant incidents from occurring again, police forces and RAF have been deployed in the village.


So far, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident. However, several suspicious individuals have been detained for questioning by the police. Investigations are underway to determine who was present at the gambling den, who threw bombs at the police, and where the bombs were obtained from.


The incident has created new excitement in the area regarding the attack on police centered around the gambling den. The Salar police are trying to identify the accused and arrest them quickly.
