Body of Unknown Woman Recovered from DVC Canal, Panic in Asisnagar, Durgapur

**Durgapur:** Panic spread in the Asisnagar area of Durgapur following the recovery of the body of an unknown woman from the DVC canal. Local residents spotted a woman's body floating in the DVC canal adjacent to Ward 39 on Friday morning.

According to local sources, the residents informed the police upon seeing the body floating in the canal. Upon receiving the news, the police from the Coke Oven police station in Durgapur arrived at the scene. The police then recovered the woman's body from the canal.

After the recovery, the body was sent to Durgapur Sub-Divisional Hospital for an autopsy. The identity of the deceased woman has not yet been established.

However, a mystery has arisen regarding how the woman died. The police are investigating whether she drowned in the water or if her body was disposed of in the canal after death in some other manner. It is believed that a clearer understanding of the cause of death will emerge once the autopsy report is received.

The police of the Coke Oven station have begun an investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, efforts are also underway to ascertain the identity of the deceased woman.
