Women Crowd at Block Office Crying with Folded Hands for Annapurna Bhandar Funds
**Malda:** A crowd of women who have not received funds from the Annapurna Bhandar scheme gathered at the block office even on a government holiday, triggered by a fake notification that spread via mobile. This incident occurred on Sunday at the **Harischandrapur-1 Block Office** in Malda, causing tension. Police from the Harischandrapur station arrived at the scene to manage the situation.
According to local sources, a notification regarding the Annapurna Bhandar scheme funds spread via mobile. Although it was later revealed to be fake, many women arrived at the block office hoping to resolve their issues related to the funds after seeing the notification.
It is alleged that some of these women received the first installment of the Annapurna Bhandar scheme but have not received subsequent installments. Others claim they have not received any funds from the scheme so far. They had come to the block office to report these issues.
However, upon reaching the block office, the situation took a different turn. It is alleged that several women were kept locked on the ground floor of the office, and later the doors were locked from inside and outside. They have raised allegations against a temporary employee regarding this incident.
Upon receiving the news, police from the Harischandrapur station arrived at the scene. Later, with police intervention, the women who were locked inside were brought outside. Immediately, several women broke down in tears in front of the police, pleading for a quick resolution to their issues regarding the Annapurna Bhandar funds.
Meanwhile, it is alleged that even after the BDO arrived at the block office, he did not meet the complaining women, which further increased their frustration.
The entire incident has caused a stir in the area. An investigation is underway to determine who spread the fake notification and the truth behind the allegations of women being locked up. Additionally, attention is now focused on how the administration addresses the complaints regarding the non-receipt of Annapurna Bhandar funds.
