Protest Against Poor Roads: CPI(M) Releases Fish in Stagnant Water Demanding Repairs Before Durga Puja

**Durgapur:** The CPI(M) has joined in a unique protest demanding the repair of dilapidated roads before Durga Puja. In front of Mohananda Cancer Hospital in Ward 27 of Durgapur's Bidhannagar, CPI(M) workers and supporters protested by releasing fish into stagnant water, which has been in a state of disrepair for a long time.

On Tuesday morning, they released fish into the water that had accumulated on the road to express their protest. The protesters claimed that the road has become practically unusable due to lack of repairs for a long time. Large potholes have formed at various places on the road, and the situation has worsened with rainwater accumulation.

The CPI(M) claims that there are two important hospitals near this road. As a result, patients, their relatives, and the general public have to use this road daily. The poor condition of the road is causing problems for everyone. Protesters have particularly pointed out that the difficulties increase when transporting sick patients to and from the hospital.

Protesters further alleged that despite informing various administrative bodies multiple times about the need for road repairs, no effective action has been taken so far. Consequently, there is a growing concern that the public's difficulties will increase as Durga Puja approaches.

On this day, CPI(M) workers and supporters tried to draw the administration's attention by releasing fish into the stagnant water in a unique manner. They demanded that the road repair work must begin quickly before the festival.

Otherwise, the protesters have warned of launching a larger movement in the coming days. Now it remains to be seen how quickly the administration will take steps to repair the road following this protest.
