Water Level of Ganges Above Danger Mark in Bhutni, Over 25 Villages Flooded! More Than 15,000 People Stranded

**Maldah:** A severe flood situation has arisen in the Bhutni area of Malda's Manikchak. The water level of the Ganges is rising continuously. The Ganges is already flowing above the danger mark. Additionally, due to the breach of the dam in Kesharpur, new water has entered, flooding a vast area of Bhutni.

According to local sources, the breach in the Kesharpur dam has submerged more than **25 villages**. Several villages including Durlabh Tola, Bhuban Tola, Kedar Tola, and Maniknagar have been severely flooded. More than **15,000 people** are stranded.

Understanding the gravity of the situation, the administration has already started taking action. Following the Chief Minister's directive, three ministers from three states are present in the Manikchak area. Flood monitoring is being conducted from Manikchak, with the assistance of local MLA Gourchandra Mandal.

For the affected people, **seven relief camps have been opened**. Additionally, it has been reported by administration sources that dry food has been distributed to nearly **400 families** taking shelter on the dam.

The administration is trying to relocate the stranded people to safe places. However, many are unwilling to leave their homes. This has created a new challenge for the administration in their rescue efforts.

The administration fears that if the water level of the Ganges continues to rise in the coming days, the situation could become even more dire. Therefore, the administration and rescue teams are prepared to relocate stranded individuals to safe locations under any circumstances.

The administration is closely monitoring the situation in Bhutni. Regular monitoring is being conducted on the water level of the Ganges and the condition of the dam. Meanwhile, efforts are also underway to quickly deliver relief and necessary assistance to the flooded villages.
