Child Given Stale Rotten Chicken Patties! Panic in Durgapur's Steel Market
**Durgapur:** Panic erupted in the Steel Market area of Benachity in Durgapur following allegations of a three-and-a-half-year-old child being given stale food. Complaints have been raised about a chicken patty purchased from a branded cake and patty shop, which reportedly emitted a foul odor from the meat pieces inside. The child's family members have filed a written complaint at the A-Zone police station regarding the incident.
The complainant, Laltu Das, claims to be a resident of Netaji Colony. Recently, he visited the shop in the Steel Market with his three-and-a-half-year-old daughter. He bought a chicken patty for the child. Allegedly, after the child had eaten most of the patty, Laltu Baba tasted the food himself.
He claims that he then detected a strong foul odor coming from the pieces of chicken inside the patty. This was immediately reported to the shop's staff. Initially, the staff claimed that the food was neither stale nor rotten.
Subsequently, Laltu Das lodged a written complaint at the A-Zone police station. After receiving the complaint, the police reportedly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. The complainant's family claims that the police ordered the shop to be closed. Additionally, the shop's manager has also been summoned to the police station.
The incident has caused a stir in the area. There is concern among the family about whether the child has fallen ill after consuming the food. However, it is still uncertain whether the food was indeed stale or rotten. The police are investigating the incident based on the complaint.
Local residents are now looking to see how much the administration increases its oversight regarding food quality and the shop's food preservation measures.
