Recruitment of Junior Research Fellow in Research Project at IIIT Kalyani, Work on Sensor for Cervical Cancer Detection

The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Kalyani) has published a notification for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a government-funded research project. According to the institution's notification, applications are invited from interested candidates for a position under the National Research Foundation–Advanced Research Grant (ANRF-ARG) project. According to the notification published by IIIT Kalyani (Advt. No. IIITK/Rectt/AIPOC_SRIC-JRF/2026/06, date 30-06-2026), one (01) vacancy for JRF will be filled. The position is mentioned as 'JRF (ECE)' under the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department.

The principal investigator of the project is Dr. Rinki Saha, Assistant Professor of the ECE department. The co-principal investigator is Dr. Oishila Bandopadhyay, Assistant Professor of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department. Additionally, several medical researchers from AIIMS Kalyani are also involved in the project, as stated in the notification.

According to information published on the job website FacultyTick and ServiceSetu, the project focuses on developing a 'label-free' electrochemical sensor for detecting cervical cancer biomarkers using AI-based, nature-inspired MXene nanostructures.

Regarding eligibility, the websites have mentioned that candidates must possess a first-class postgraduate (M.E / M.Tech / M.Sc) degree in relevant subjects such as ECE, Radio Physics and Electronics, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, or Biological Sciences, along with GATE/NET or equivalent qualifications. However, it is noted that candidates who have obtained a first-class degree through national-level entrance examinations of central institutions like IIT, IISc, and ISAR are exempt from GATE/NET.

According to the notification, the selected candidate must enroll in the full-time PhD program at IIIT Kalyani in accordance with the institution's regulations. Candidates are required to apply in the prescribed format and send the necessary documents to Dr. Rinki Saha via email and post. The interview date for shortlisted candidates will be communicated via email.
