**Malda:** The Malda district police has solved the sensational murder case in the 2nd Government Colony of Malda city within just 12 hours. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with this incident. According to police sources, one of the arrested is a distant grandson of the deceased. The names of the arrested are Shubhojit Ghosh (22) and Kaushik Ghosh.
According to police sources, the name of the deceased is Arnab Sen (60). He was a resident of the 2nd Government Colony area of Malda city. It has been alleged that Shubhojit and his friend Kaushik had accumulated a huge debt due to their addiction to online gaming. The preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that the murder of Arnab Sen was planned to repay that debt.
It is alleged that as per the plan, Shubhojit went to Arnab Sen's house with his friend Kaushik. After that, they suffocated him with a pillow in the bedroom and then cut his throat to kill him. After the murder, the accused also fled with the deceased's mobile phone.
In the investigation of the incident, the police first focused on the movement of the deceased's mobile phone. By tracking the location of that mobile phone, the investigators obtained crucial leads about the movements of the accused. Subsequently, the police quickly advanced the investigation and arrested Shubhojit and Kaushik.
The police claim that during interrogation, financial issues emerged as a motive behind the murder. Investigators are examining whether such a horrific decision was made to repay the money after falling into the addiction of online gaming.
On Saturday, Malda District Superintendent of Police Anupam Singh stated in a press conference that the police achieved significant success in the investigation within just 12 hours of the murder. Two individuals involved in this incident have been arrested based on multiple leads, including mobile phone location tracking.
