Teachers and non-teaching staff who lost jobs in 2016 march to Bikash Bhavan with multiple demands

**Kolkata:** A march to Bikash Bhavan was organized by various organizations representing teachers and non-teaching staff who lost their jobs in the 2016 recruitment process. Jobless teachers and staff gathered in Karunamoyee with their various demands. From there, the protesters set off towards Bikash Bhavan.

The protesters demand that the Supreme Court's ruling be acknowledged, and the message of standing by qualified teachers and staff, along with the prior commitments made, must be implemented. They allege that effective initiatives from the state government are necessary for a permanent solution to the situation of qualified candidates losing their jobs.

One of the main demands of the protesters is that the state government should take initiative to legally reinstate qualified teachers and staff through a curative petition. They assert that immediate action is needed to ensure that the jobs of those who are qualified are not left in uncertainty.

Additionally, there is a demand for an immediate meeting between the jobless teachers and staff and the Chief Minister of the state. The protesters claim that direct discussions with the Chief Minister are necessary to find a permanent solution to their problems.
