Police Investigates Unusual Death, Bodies Sent for Autopsy

**Dinahata:** The discovery of the bloodied bodies of a husband and wife inside their home has caused a stir in Dinahata, Cooch Behar. This incident occurred on Friday morning in an area adjacent to the ice house of Dinahata Village-1 gram panchayat. The deceased have been identified as **Sukumar Barman** and his wife **Champa Roy**. Sukumar was reportedly a van driver.

According to local sources, neighbors saw the couple lying bloodied inside their home on Friday morning. They immediately informed the Dinahata police station. A large police force arrived at the scene upon receiving the news. Dinahata sub-divisional police officer **Prashant Debnath**, IC **Budhaditya Roy**, and other police officials were present at the scene.

The deceased couple's daughter, Tumpa Roy, stated that she had repeatedly called her mother in the morning. However, when she received no response, she became worried. Subsequently, her elder son was sent home. Upon arriving, he found both of them lying bloodied on the floor.

As news of the incident spread, there was widespread panic in the area. Local residents claim that there were frequent family disputes between the couple. However, it is still unclear whether these disputes are connected to their deaths.

The circumstances surrounding the couple's deaths have created a mystery. The Dinahata police are investigating whether it was murder, suicide, or some other cause. Investigators have begun collecting various information and samples from the scene.

So far, two bodies have been recovered and sent for autopsy. The police believe that a clearer understanding of the cause of death will emerge once the autopsy report is received.
