Landslide on Railway Track in New Farakka Due to Continuous Rain, Disruption of Multiple Important Train Services

**Murshidabad:** A landslide on the railway track near New Farakka station in Murshidabad has created widespread panic due to heavy rain for several hours. In the early hours of Thursday, a section of the up line at the entrance of the Farakka Barrage suddenly sank. As a result, the movement of multiple important trains has been disrupted.

According to railway sources, a section of the up line at the entrance of the Farakka Barrage has collapsed while heading from South Bengal to North Bengal. It is initially believed that the continuous rain has softened the soil, causing the lower part of the railway line to sink.

Railway officials and workers quickly reached the scene upon receiving news of the incident. Repair work on the damaged railway line began with wartime urgency. Train movement on that line has been controlled for safety reasons.
