**Sonarpur:** A person has been arrested in Sonarpur, South 24 Parganas, for allegedly posing as a fake doctor and treating patients. He reportedly used fake **MBBS and FRCS degrees** while claiming to be an oncologist and had been practicing medicine for a long time. The arrested individual is named Bishwaroop Acharya.
According to police sources, there are multiple allegations against Bishwaroop Acharya for running chambers at various locations. Preliminary investigations reveal that he had a total of **eight chambers**. It is also alleged that he charged around 800 rupees per visit from each patient.
Recently, Bishwaroop Acharya opened a new chamber in a house in the Ghasiyara area of Sonarpur. The house owner became suspicious of his activities and reported the matter to the police.
Based on the complaint, the police initiated an investigation. To verify the doctor's identity, the police adopted an innovative approach. **Investigators posed as patients and raided the individual’s chamber.** During the raid, several discrepancies regarding his claimed degrees and identity as a doctor were uncovered, according to police sources.
